Free professional learning with Connected Educator initiative

NetSafe has confirmed it is participating in the Connected Educator initiative, which is designed to connect thousands of educators to engage in free online professional learning.

The initiative is run by CORE Education and runs until 16 October 2015.

The initiative offers free online access to workshops, keynotes, panels, discussions and more. “Let’s celebrate how we can support each others’ learning in a networked world,” CORE Education says on its website.

NetSafe says it is seeking to learn more about the online safety and digital citizenship resources that teachers are using to promote safe and responsible online learning.

On its website, NetSafe says it is seeking feedback from educators on three questions:

  1. What resources do you use to teach online safety or digital citizenship?
  2. What do you like about them?
  3. What other resources do you wish that you had?

The initiative is open to educators, schools, kura, early childhood services and other learning centres.

Whether you want to learn to use digital technologies to connect to other educators beyond your learning environment, or grow the professional learning of others, there will be events for you,” CORE Education says.
