Canon New Zealand is once again offering $15 000 worth of grants in their annual Environmental Grants Programme. New Zealand schools, community groups and not-for-profit organisations are encouraged to enter a project, and show how they are working hard to make a difference in the environment and their community.
“We realise that there are so many amazing projects throughout New Zealand that would greatly benefit from extra support and resources to help them capture, document or share the beneficial work they are doing for our environment,” Yusuke Mizoguchi, Managing Director of Canon New Zealand, says.
Part of the judging criteria is assessing the impact that Canon products would have on a project, and how the use of the products would help to realise its success.
Each winning project will receive $5000 worth of Canon equipment to support the initiative, from a range of products including digital compact and DSLR cameras, binoculars, printers, security cameras and projectors.
Categories for the 2014 Canon Environmental Grants are:
the Regional Award for an environmental project with significance to a rural or regional area within New Zealand; the Education Award for an environmental project being run by a kindergarten, primary or secondary school or tertiary organisation, or group within the organisation, within New Zealand; and the Community Award for an environmental project being run by a community group or organisation within New Zealand.
“We look forward to offering our support for another year and once again recognise and reward some of the outstanding organisations that continue to dedicate their time and energy to improving the local community by embracing positive environmental and sustainability practices,” Mizoguchi says.
Applications close on Friday 10 October 2014. For further details visit http://www.canon.co.nz/environment
